J’ai cousu…

… mais pas grand chose. J’ai cousu… quand-même, en août : tout d’abord un top Savannah de Seamwork pour compléter mon ensemble pyjama. Ensuite, un genre de robe en ratine qui permet de se changer sans s’exposer, pour mon frère qui est sportif et fait du vélo de montagne. Je ne vous ai rien présenté… mais je n’ai pas chômé ! I did sew… not much but I did sew a little in august; first a Savannah top from Seamwork to finish off my pyjama set. Then a kind of robe that you can change under without exposing yourself for my brother who practices sports and is an avid fan of mountain bike. I haven’t shown you anything but I sewed a little.

J’ai ensuite cousu une petite robe en lin rouge pour Raphaëlle. Attention, à sa demande ! Vous avez bien lu : une robe à sa demande ! Car, figurez-vous qu’elle devait porter du rouge pour la rentrée et qu’elle voulait un nouveau morceau ! Bien sûr, elle a bon goût, et dans ma réserve de tissus elle a tout de suite repéré ce lin rouge à pois orangés que je m’étais réservé… Bah ! J’en avait trois mètres, je pourrai encore m’en faire un top !

But then I sewed a little red linen dress for Raphaëlle, at her demand that is! You read right a dress (!) she asked for! It happens that she had to wear red on the first day of school and, she wanted a new garment! Of course she has good taste so in my stash, she spotted a red linen with orange polkadots I had reserved for myself… Bah! I had three meters, I can still manage. Top for myself!

Pour le patron, je suis allée fouiller dans mes magazines de patrons et me suis finalement arrêtée sur la robe Daisy du magazine Ottobre 3/2015 (été). À noter que je lui ai quand même présenté plusieurs modèles. Il s’agit d’une robe entièrement doublée : j’ai utilisé une popeline de coton rouge pour la doubler – n’ayant pas pu mettre la main sur une baptiste ou un voile rouge. Je l’ai réalisée en taille 146 pour Raphaëlle qui a 10 ans.

For the pattern I went through a bunch of my pattern’s magazine. I finaly chose the Daisy dress from the summer 2015 edition of the Ottobre magazine (3/2015). Note that I presented Raphaëlle with many patterns but that was the winner! It’s an entirely lined dress. I used a red coton poplin for the lining. I made it in size 146 for Raphaëlle who is ten years old.

Ce n’est pas tout à fait un patron pour débutante – à cause de sa doublure, ce patron demande un certain savoir-faire. J’adore le rendu, la courbe des petites emmanchures me charment ! Raphaëlle l’a portée la première journée d’école mais je n’ai pas eu la chance de prendre de photos avant. À la fin de cette journée elle était bien fripée et portait des marques de stylo. Nous l’avons donc mise au lavage nous disant que l’article attendrait !

Because it is fully lined, it doesn’t qualify for a beginner’s pattern. I love the result, the rounded sleeves are charming! Raphaëlle woreit on the first day of school but I didn’t have the chance to take pictures before and at the end of the day she was wrinkled all over and had ink stains on it. So I put it in the wash telling myself that the pictures could wait a few more days!

Alors : le voici enfin cet article ! Le lin vient de la boutique en ligne Eweknit. J’ai un faible pour les pois et Raphaëlle était plus que satisfaite de sa robe pour la rentrée : elle s’y sentait belle ! Qu’espérer de plus ?!? Elle la portera d’ailleurs pour la photo d’école cette semaine.

Here it is finally that post! The linen comes from the Eweknit online store. I have a thing for polka dots and I just fell for that linen! Raphaëlle was more than happy with her back to school dress. She felt beautiful in it, what more can I ask for?!!! She will wear it for the school picture this week.
